Why do we keep living in fear and blocking our blessings?

Why do we keep living in fear and blocking our blessings?

I believe it’s because people don’t think they deserve the blessings and the good things. People think they’re not good enough. When you ask someone what they really want, they usually answer with a list of things they don’t want.

Life is like a boomerang. What you give out, you’re going to get it back. What we believe about ourselves and our life is going to come true for us. If you keep telling the Universe what you don’t want, how can it give you what you want?

After years of individual counseling with clients around the world, I found that there is one thing that heals every problem. And that is: to love yourself.

When people start to love themselves more each day, it’s amazing how their lives get better. They feel better and they are open to more opportunities. They get the jobs they want. They have the money they need. Their relationships either improve, or the negative ones dissolve and new ones begin. It’s a very simple premise—loving yourself.

I’ve been criticized for being too simplistic. However I have found that the simple things are usually the most profound and the simple things really work.

When a problem comes up, one of the best things you can do is say these positive affirmations:

All is well.

Everything is working out for my highest good.

Out of this experience only good will come.

I am safe.

When you these repeat them over and over, it will quiet your mind down long enough for the Universe to find a solution for the so-called problem. If you say it enough times, it will become so.

Life will find miraculous ways to bring good to you.

Choosing to Forgive

When someone has hurt us, consciously or unconsciously, one of the most difficult things we have to face in resolving the situation is the act of forgiveness. Sometimes it feels like it’s easier not to forgive and that the answer is to simply cut the person in question out of our lives. In some cases, ending the relationship may be the right thing to do, but even in that case, we will only be free if we have truly forgiven. If we harbor bitterness in our hearts against anyone, we only hurt ourselves because we are the ones harboring the bitterness. Choosing to forgive is choosing to alleviate ourselves of that burden, choosing to be free of the past, and choosing not to perceive ourselves as victims.

One of the reasons that forgiveness can be so challenging is that we feel we are condoning the actions of the person who caused our suffering, but this is a misunderstanding of what is required. In order to forgive, we simply need to get to a place where we are ready to stop identifying ourselves with the suffering that was caused us. Forgiveness is something we do for ourselves, and our forgiveness of others is an extension of our readiness to let go of our own pain. Getting to this point begins with fully accepting what has happened. Through this acceptance, we allow ourselves to feel and process our emotions….
